Zep Oven Cleaner is one of the strongest and most effective products we use for tackling built-up grease, burnt-on food, and stubborn oven grime. When used correctly, it saves time and leaves ovens looking brand new. Here’s how to get the best results while keeping yourself and the client’s home safe.
Before You Start
Always wear gloves and make sure the area is well-ventilated. Open windows or turn on a fan if possible.
Remove oven racks and clean them separately.
Check the surface: Never use Zep on aluminum, painted surfaces, or self-cleaning ovens. It’s designed for traditional oven interiors and racks only.
How to Apply
Shake the can well.
Hold it upright and spray evenly on the inside of the oven, covering the back, sides, bottom, and door. Avoid heating elements or vents.
Close the oven door and let the foam sit for 10–15 minutes to dissolve grease and buildup.
While waiting, you can clean other areas of the kitchen, just make sure the oven stays closed.
Wiping & Finishing
After 10–15 minutes, open the oven and wipe away the cleaner with a damp cloth or sponge.
For tougher spots, reapply and let it sit for another 5 minutes before wiping again.
Once the oven is clean, rinse all surfaces thoroughly with a clean damp cloth to remove any residue.
Dry with a towel and leave the oven door open briefly to air out.
Tips for Best Results
For light cleanings, reduce wait time to 5 minutes.
Never mix Zep with other products like degreasers or bleach.
Always check your gloves and avoid touching your face or eyes during use.
If using on racks, spray them outdoors or in a sink, let sit, then rinse thoroughly before drying.
Using Zep correctly saves time and delivers that “like-new” shine clients love. It’s powerful, so handle it with care, but when used right, it makes even the toughest ovens a quick win for your team.
